Yes, a lightweight women's UV shirt effectively protects your skin from the sun, because its protection depends on the choice of fibres and the density of the fabric more than on its thickness. At Ker Sun, our shirts, including the lightest ones, are certified UPF 50+ in line with European standard EN 13758-2, for very high protection against UVA and UVB rays. Built into the weave, this protection does not fade wash after wash. Our shirts are classified as Category I personal protective equipment (PPE) and undergo strict testing.

To stay cool in a women’s UV shirt, choose a breathable fabric and a relaxed fit that lets air circulate around your body. At Ker Sun, our UV shirts are designed for hot weather. Depending on the style, they use materials of natural origin: light, breathable linen, or lyocell, cotton and bamboo viscose, which are soft to the touch. At Ker Sun, our long-sleeved shirts cover the shoulders, chest and arms, which are among the areas most exposed to the sun. On some styles, a turn-up collar also protects the back of the neck, and extended cuffs the backs of the hands. The shirt dress cut extends this protection from the hips to below the knees.
